Cross Trades Operator
Full time, Monday to Friday, 08:00 – 17:00
Salary: £28,000 – £32,000

Our client is excited to welcome a proactive and enthusiastic Multimodal Operator to their friendly team in Basildon. With offices across the UK, China and Europe, this is a fantastic opportunity to join a well-established business where your contribution truly makes a difference.
This is a varied and rewarding role where you’ll be at the heart of coordinating international and domestic shipments, working closely with colleagues, partners, and customers to ensure everything runs smoothly.
What you’ll be doing
You’ll play a key role supporting X-Trade and Multimodal operations, including:
Managing X-Trade shipments across international and domestic routes
Supporting Sea Export and Sea X-Trade operations
Liaising with overseas offices, suppliers, and customs brokers
Coordinating with warehouses and transport partners to ensure timely deliveries
Handling Bills of Lading and shipment documentation
Supporting customs processes including import entries where applicable
Working with internal teams to ensure cargo is released efficiently
What we’re looking for
We’d love to hear from you if you have:
Experience in multimodal, sea freight, or freight forwarding operations
Knowledge of import customs entries (advantageous but not essential)
Bill of Lading experience
A professional and confident communication style
Strong customer service skills
Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office and logistics systems
Most importantly, you’ll be organised, proactive, and enjoy being part of a supportive team.
