An exciting opportunity has arisen for a proactive and organised individual to play a key role in a fast-paced logistics environment. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys operational responsibility, problem-solving, and working at the heart of transport and yard activity.
The Role
You will be responsible for coordinating the safe and efficient movement, positioning, loading, and dispatch of transport vehicles in line with established procedures. This is a hands-on role that requires strong communication, attention to detail, and the ability to stay calm and effective under pressure.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate the movement and positioning of containers and trailers to ensure smooth loading and unloading operations, keeping schedules on track and minimizing delays
- Oversee and manage transport contractors while on site, ensuring full compliance with safety standards and operational procedures
- Control access and movements of drivers and pedestrians within the site to maintain a safe working environment
- Carry out daily checks of tug units and on-site trailers, identifying and reporting any maintenance or safety concerns
- Work closely with internal teams to ensure seamless communication and cooperation across departments
- Proactively identify, resolve, and report any issues that could impact daily load schedules or operational compliance
Skills/ Experience:-
Previous Shunting or Tug experience
Refresher Shunting course available
Full Driving Licence
Self-motivated
pro-active,
basic mechanical knowledge
