Job Title: Fire and Security Systems Engineer
Job Role:
To install, service, and maintain fire detection and security systems to the highest standards in accordance
with current regulations and company procedures. The role involves working across a variety of commercial,
industrial, and residential sites across the UK.
Key Responsibilities
Installation, maintenance, and repair of:
• Fire Alarm Systems (conventional and addressable)
• Intruder Alarm Systems
• CCTV Systems (IP and analogue)
• Fault finding and diagnostics on existing systems
• Ensure all work is carried out in compliance with relevant health and safety standards and industry
regulations (e.g., BS5839, BS7671, NSI, BAFE)
• Accurate completion of job sheets and service reports
• Participate in on-call rota for emergency callouts (as required)
• Liaise professionally with clients, providing clear communication and excellent customer service
• Attend training and development sessions as required to maintain up-to-date knowledge of
technology and legislation
• Ensure proper care and management of company tools, equipment, and vehicle

Person Specification
Essential:
• Proven experience in a similar role within the fire and security industry
• Strong technical knowledge of fire alarms, intruder alarms and CCTV systems
• Understanding of relevant British Standards (e.g. BS5839, BS5266)
• Full UK driving licence
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
• Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Right to work in the UK
• DBS check (or willing to undergo one)
Desirable:
• Relevant industry qualifications (e.g. FIA, City & Guilds, ECS/CSCS)
• Knowledge of systems from manufacturers such as Kentec, C-Tec, Eaton, Texecom, Hikvision,
Paxton…
• Experience working to NSI or BAFE standards
Working Conditions
• Monday to Friday
• Overtime and on-call may be required
• Travel to various client sites; occasional overnight stays depending on job location
