Service Manager – Key Requirements
The Service Manager is responsible for ensuring the dealership’s service operation runs efficiently, commercially and to budget.
Key areas include:
- Managing and developing the service team.
- Overseeing Service Advisors and Technicians.
- Ensuring technicians are achieving strong levels of productive/sold time.
- Managing customer vehicle throughput and ensuring vehicles are serviced and returned efficiently.
- Maintaining cost-effective dealership operations.
- Monitoring performance against budgets and KPIs.
- Developing the team and improving operational performance.
- Previous experience managing or developing a successful dealership/service operation is highly desirable.
Hiring Process:
- For Service Manager and other senior positions:
- Initial interview with the Brand Manager / Director.
- Further interview with the Group COO.
- Strong preference for candidates with a proven track record of successful performance within another motor trade business.
- Internal progression is encouraged, with external candidates considered where they demonstrate the right experience and potential.
