Temporary Teacher in Accounting
Location: Colchester, Essex
Salary: £22.89 – 24.96ph
Temporary – 3 days a week Tuesday to Thursday

Our client is a well-known and well-respected college in Colchester. They are currently looking for a temporary teacher to work with them every Tuesday to Thursday each week for the remainder of 2019.
Salary is depending on experience and we are looking to pay you weekly through a timesheet.
To provide inspirational teaching on a range of AAT Accounting subjects on Level 2-3 FE courses to full and part-time learners. To undertake other duties associated with the role of an Hourly Paid Teacher.
To prepare appropriate teaching material.
To carry out teaching appropriate to the requirements of individual courses and students.
To maintain appropriate student attendance records as required.
To maintain student discipline.
To set, mark, record and return relevant coursework and assessments within agreed guidelines.
To attend, as required, up to 3 meetings a year as specified by the Head of Area. They may include parents’ evenings, course review meetings and curriculum development meetings.
To take part in the College’s appraisal scheme and staff development programme as appropriate.
To refer to the appropriate full-time lecturer (Course Tutor, Personal Tutor, Programme Manager) student progress as required and any incident or behaviour which may require further investigation, support or counselling.
To observe all of the College’s policies including Health and Safety and Equal Opportunities.
To work to promote and apply the College’s Safeguarding and Child Protection policy and practices.
To undertake such other duties as may be required by or on behalf of our client if they are consistent with the nature of the post.
Significant recent work experience in the relevant vocational area
Recent teaching or training experience preferred
Ability to teach at least the following:
Bookkeeping BKCL & BTRN/AVBK
Computerised Accounting SAGE
Business Communication BPLS
Working effectively/Synoptic FSYA
An understanding of safeguarding and a commitment to creating a safe learning environment
An awareness of the importance of Equality & Diversity
Ability to develop and maintain links with business organisations
Good communication skills including written, oral and presentation skills
Excellent IT skills
Ability to use technology to enhance learning
Good team working skills
Ability to work with both young and mature students
Able to work flexibly – usually as part of an integrated course team
